Achievements

Here are the major recognitions that Scar has accrued during his time with eGO! I don't want to be too prideful so I will only put the top-top ones

Team Fortress 2 Member of the year 2022

On January 14, 2023, I was awarded by Team Fortress 2 Leadership the Member of The Year award for the previous year. This is an incredible honour that I didn't expect! Below is the post included with the award and a recording of my section of the ceremony.

"An outstanding member of the community who has gone and continues to go far and beyond what is expected. Since getting their "e" back in early February of '22, they have set themselves out as a kind, chill, and enjoyable player to be around from the get-go. They are always levelheaded, they are always great to be around, and they quickly made their way up to an "O" in no more than 4 months, Since being admin they have set themselves out to help every way they can, including special teams like MS and COT to help everywhere they could. They are always pleasant to be around and have even helped TF2 on special projects. They have gone above and beyond expectations and are always a pleasure to be around." - DrkChocolate, TF2 Community Manager

The diamond commendation

On January 13th, 2023, I was awarded by eGO Tech Leadership The Diamond Commendation. The website describes the award this way: "Presented by Managers to those whom they determine have gone above and beyond in their dedication to eGO."

From Media, Community Outreach, Recruitment Coordinator for TF2, or even Member Services, Scarox93 has made it clear that they are a driven, mature, and responsible member of the community. Advisor promotion

On March 10th, 2023, a year and a month after I joined eGO, I was promoted by TF2 Leadership to Advisor! In this capacity, I help LE and advise them on special projects, where applicable!

Advisor is a non-leadership level position consisting of senior ranking eGO admins who have proven their ability to excel with the responsibility of upholding the values of EdgeGamers. Advisors know the ins and outs of what it means to be an admin and acts as a role model to our admin base. In addition to their expertise in admining, they are entrusted with more responsibilities to guide other team members, admins, or members to achieve the games, teams, and community's goals.

Scar's eGO Journey

Here are the steps of Scar's path through eGO!

Admin Team
In February of 2021, I became a member [or e-tag/=(e)=] of eGO. This put me on track to possibly one day become an admin. At the end of the following March, I received my G [Making me =(eG)=] which is the tag for provisionary adminship. After showing activity on the servers, proving myself to be dedicated to eGO, and following the rules well, I was promoted to =(eGO)= [Full adminship] on the last day of May, 2022. Then, on the 10th of March, 2023, I was surprised with a promotion to the Advisor rank! To read more about that, visit the Achievements section!

TF2 Recruitment Coordinator
In July of 2022, I was part of an effort to reboot the TF2 Recruitment Coordination Team. The TF2 RC Specialty Team hadn't existed in years, so Charli [eGO Manager] and I started it back up, taking on PastryFoxy [eGO Manager] and some help from others.

Media Team (Retired)
From May 4th [Star Wars Day] of 2022 until July 18th, 2022, I was a Media Video Editor. This means that I was given raw footage and some elements to work with and assigned some projects to complete for eGO. During my time in this position, I edited the Meet The Leadership video for DDZ Zionex which can be found here. After that project, I decided that the projects were too few and far between yet intensive when I got one to be a part of Media Team so I went on a Leave of Absence and then retired.

On November 16th, I decided to reapply to Media Team because I am a communications major at my college and believed that the skills I could whet while here would benefit me and eGO. I applied to be a Media Interviewer and Writer. So far, I've written a few page announcements, interviewed for the big 2022 Recap, the Dedicated Supporter guide and did Luna's Meet The Leadership!
Unfortunately, life got the better of me and I found it in my best interest to retire from MT Writer, among other groups, in March of 2023, while being asked to remain as Interviewer.

Member Services (Retired)
On September 12th, 2022, I joined Member Services as a full-time admin. After a few months of being one of the most active members, I decided to back off a bit and became part-time in mid-December. This is the group I've had the most personal growth in but the least actual measurable growth. On March 4th, 2023, I decided I had a bit too much on my plate and tendered my resignation. I stayed with the team for a very long time but my time had indeed come.
To re-engage with MINT, when the launch came near, I rejoined MS so that I could participate in late April.

Community Outreach Team (Retired)
November 4th, 2022 saw me join the Community Outreach Team. A subset of MS, I spent an hour or so every week posting ads in Discord servers, among other responsibilites. After some stressful things that happened in real life, I went on a Leave of Absence from COT for about a month at the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023 but then returned to work on the MINT Project.
Unfortunately, like Media Team, and much to my chagrin (considering my love for MINT), I decided to retire from COT on March 21st, 2022.

MINT (Retired)
In November of 2022, Lucas, Sam, and a few other older MS admins presented an idea: the rebooting of an old program, formerly known as NME, now to be called MINT, which stands for Member INtroduction Team. The program was designed to make new players more comfortable by offering a MINT Friend, a guide in the community when they apply for membership. TehRaddish and I worked to rebuild the program under this new structure and get it up and running. In the third week of May, 2023, the MINT program was released and implemented over a few weeks. This team is one of my passion projects and one of my favourite things I have done with eGO.
